Location
Located on Massachusetts’s South Shore, the Town of Braintree is a large suburban community located about 12 miles south of Boston. Braintree offers residents good schools; plenty of shopping, dining, and entertainment options; and an easy commute to Boston with highway access and a Redline T-Station right in town.

The Braintree School District is home to ten schools and approximately 5,456 students with a 12.6-to-1 student-teacher ratio. There is a kindergarten center, 6 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, and a high school. Restaurants
Braintree has a variety of great restaurants. There are numerous restaurants located at the South Shore Plaza including Cheesecake Factory, Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse, and Dave and Buster’s. There are also a number of different restaurant options available throughout town including Legal Seafoods, TGI Fridays, Chili’s, Panera, Bertucci’s, Jake n Joe’s Sports Grille, and Cielo Mexican Restaurant. Some local favorites include Southside Tavern which offers a large menu, full bar, large screen TVs, and a fun, relaxed dining atmosphere; Campanale’s Restaurant and Lounge which offers fine Italian cuisine including a large selection of family dinners (and martini’s to-go); and 110 Grill which is an upscale chain restaurant featuring “modern American cuisine in a trendy, casual atmosphere” with a great gluten free menu.
Activities
Braintree has a lot to offer in terms of entertainment. It is home to the South Shore Plaza, the AMC Braintree 10 Movie Theater, Smith Beach (small beach on the Weymouth Fore River which leads to the Atlantic Ocean), Petersen Splashpad at Watson Park, Sunset Lake, Pond Meadow Park, Braintree Municipal Golf Course, and the Metropolitan Yacht Club. Braintree also borders Blue Hills Reservation—which has a small ski hill and multiple hiking trails.
Community Events
Braintree hosts numerous community-based events throughout the year including Farmer’s Markets, holiday tree lighting, veteran’s day celebration, story and craft time at the library, movie nights, senior walks, summer concert series at Sunset Lake, and Party in the Park.
