Location

East Bridgewater is a small, family-friendly suburban community. It is located about 30-miles south of Boston and only a 20-miles from the beach. Commuters can drive to Boston or park and ride at one of the neighboring towns’ commuter rail stops (Bridgewater, Brockton, Hanson, or Halifax).  People who live in East Bridgewater love the convenience of having C.N. Smith Farm and the Old Colony YMCA right in town. 

East Bridgewater Schools

The East Bridgewater Public School System is organized into 3 centrally located school buildings. Central Elementary School serves grades Pre-k through grade 2. Gordon W. Restaurants

East Bridgewater offers a wide array of restaurants and bars including Mockingbird Restaurant & Martini Lounge, Fiesta Mexican Restaurant, Perfectly Flavah’d Café, Johnny Mac’s, and Viking Pizza. Locals love to visit Skinner’s Sugar House (Est. in 1916) for candy, chocolate, and ice cream. Locals also enjoy homemade ice cream at Ashland Farm Dairy.

Activities

There’s plenty to do in East Bridgewater. The center of town is packed with businesses and restaurants which are within walking distance to all of the schools and playgrounds.  If you enjoy getting out outdoors, Sachem Rock Farm has really great recreational trails for walking and exploring. Sachem Rock also holds a community garden for its residents to grow and maintain. CN Smith Farm is a well-known family-owned farm in town that has been operating for over 80 yrs. They have a retail shop, sell produce and plants and have lots of seasonal activities for all. Families enjoy picking fruits from their orchards, Fall hayrides, and their famous cider & donuts. The East Bridgewater Park and Recreation Department offers a variety of different camps and programs for children and residents. The East Bridgewater town library offers wonderful programs for kids and the community. Other indoor recreation options include East Bridgewater 6 Cinemas; bowling at the Viking Recreation Center; and swimming, fitness, and fun at the Old Colony YMCA.

Community Events

East Bridgewater hosts a number of fun community events throughout the year including the Field of Flags, the Jingle Parade, concerts on the common, opening day celebrations for youth sports, and the Annual Sidney Craven 5K Road Race.
