The 2020 real estate market in Massachusetts was an interesting one. Historically low interest rates paired with buyers looking for more space outside of Boston, drew families to the South Shore in record numbers. This caused a housing shortage and drove prices up. The pandemic disrupted the market in March and April, as we all stayed home, and then rebounded as we learned how to venture out safely in the summer and fall months.
On top of navigating the increased demand for housing, agents also needed to learn how to do business differently due to the pandemic. We had to prioritize the safety of each and every client, shifting to virtual meetings and showings when possible and when an in-person meeting was required, keeping it safe and efficient.
If you were selling your home, the market conditions were ideal. But for buyers they were tricky to navigate. We were thrilled to work with so many wonderful buyers, helping them zero in on the perfect neighborhood, navigate multiple offer situations, and make educated decisions on tight timelines. For sellers, we consulted on how to best stage and market their homes and how to identify the strongest offer with the highest likelihood to close.
Some of the most popular features we've seen buyers searching for are pools, a home office, room for a gym and finished basements. If you're planning to move in 2021, check out our Resources for Buyers including the LRG Buyer's Guide and Checklist. Then give us a call at 781-635-9022 to discuss!

These local real estate trends are expected to continue for 2021, which is why it's more important than ever to work with an experienced Real Estate Agency and Agent that you can trust. Our team is experienced and knows the South Shore. We hope to serve you in 2021!
